Over the last few years, I've been working on building a vision board. In the past, I built a board a long time ago and I really wanted to create one again. Yet for some reason, I kept delaying the development of my vision board. This was in spite of purchasing a few things to make it. Finally, at the beginning of the year, I attended a workshop and developed a vision board that is perfect for me. It has so much meaning and is based on the year, 2021.
I strongly believe the time was right to set up the board because I had a strong vision. I've talked about visualizing your ideal day in the past, and I've written about my ideal day. It was because I had a strong view of my life goals and what I want to achieve next year that I was able to complete my vision board at the workshop.
However, you don't need to attend a workshop to set up your vision board. It can be done at home alone or in half a day with a group of friends. This vision board checklist will lead you through what you need and how you can make your own vision board.
What you need to create your vision board.
There are only a few items you need to create your vision board. These are;
Magazines,
Pictures,
Pencil, coloured pens
Something to stick your vision on like; a poster size piece of card, a canvas, or a corkboard.
Scissors
Glue
Pins (if using a corkboard)
Photos (optional)
Stickers
It's important to be in a position where you feel relaxed and where you can be present while being creative. A location without any distractions. It's a good idea to set the mood by playing soft music, lighting a candle or prayer, or having things near you that allow you to be focused.
Find the pictures and the words you want to include on your vision board.
Choose a magazine and go through it. Cut out any images or words that resonate with your view. At this point, it's not important where the words or images will appear on your vision board. Only flip through magazines that you are able to cut out words, pictures, quotes, symbols, anything that jumps at you.
When you pick the pictures and the words for your vision board, think of how the image makes you feel. What this photo means to you. See yourself in your pictures and in your sentences.
Put the blank canvas to life. It's time to build your vision using the photos, words, and quotes that you cut out for your board.
You've got a blank page in front of you to get creative and demonstrate the personal development and goals you want to achieve next year.
There are several ways to set up a vision board. Some people want to place a lot of words on the board. Some people only want to show pictures on the board. The board is the story of the future and how you see it.
I would love to hear how you create your vision board, share it in the comments.
